Folk Mapping Interview No. 1: Frode Fjellheim
Administrator - May 31, 2021Frode Fjellheim is a Norwegian composer and musician (piano, synthesizer and joik). He is best known for his band Transjoik and as the composer of the song “Eatnemen Vuelie”, which in an adapted version called «Vuelie», is a musical number of the Disney film «Frozen». He has a long list of commissioned works for festivals and various musical ensembles. He has also composed a lot of theatre music, music for documentaries, TV and several short films. Fjellheim holds a professorate at Nord University. In this interview, the first of several mapping interviews that are part of the European Ghosts project, he is giving us his different perspectives on the Sami Joik tradition. He is interviewed by his colleague at Nord university and a member of the European Ghosts research team, professor Paal Fagerheim.
